Step into a rewarding contract opportunity as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist, delivering crucial services to K12 students for the 20262027 academic year. This is a travel-friendly role located in the Oviedo and Sanford areas, focusing on providing direct therapy and compensatory services throughout multiple school sites. Youll be well-supported and valued as you help empower students to achieve independence in their daily environments.
Key Qualifications:
- Active National Orientation & Mobility Specialist (O&M/OMS) Licensure
- Vision certification required
- Experience working with K12 students, preferably in a school setting
- Valid drivers license and social security card
- Ability to complete time-sensitive credentialing and fingerprint requirements
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct orientation and mobility therapy to students in grades K12
- Provide compensatory services and conduct evaluations as needed
- Adapt lesson plans and training activities based on student needs and abilities
- Document progress and maintain clear communication with educational staff and families
- Travel between assigned school sites within the Oviedo and Sanford areas
- Adhere to school district policies and best practices for student safety and privacy
This contract runs from August 10, 2026 through May 25, 2027, with a standard schedule of 37.5 hours per week. Candidates will be interviewed on April 27, 2026be ready to demonstrate your expertise in orientation and mobility services!
