An opportunity is available for a full-time Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) in a school setting located in Andover, MA. This contract role runs through the 2025-2026 school year and offers a consistent Monday through Friday schedule with hours from 8:15 AM to 3:15 PM, totaling 37.5 hours per week.
The caseload includes students from Kindergarten through 12th grade, providing a dynamic work environment serving various ages. Onsite presence is required to deliver specialized orientation and mobility services.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Orientation and Mobility (O&M) License in Massachusetts
- Experience working with students across a broad age range (K-12)
- Ability to develop and implement individualized mobility plans
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and educators
- Commitment to providing high-quality, onsite specialized support
Responsibilities include assessing mobility needs, creating tailored instruction plans, guiding students in safe and independent travel within school and community settings, and collaborating with educational teams to support student progress.
