This opportunity is for an Orientation and Mobility Specialist to support students with visual impairments at a school located in Livermore, CA. The role is part-time, involving onsite work 2-3 days per week during the current and upcoming school year.
Responsibilities include working directly with students who are blind or have low vision, providing training in spatial awareness, sensory techniques, and mobility skills to enhance their independence in various environments. You will collaborate with educators and staff to tailor strategies that meet each students unique needs.
Qualifications:
- Valid Orientation and Mobility Certification for California
- Experience supporting students with visual impairments
- Ability to deliver instruction and training both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
