Job Description

A school-based Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) is sought for a contracted position in Texas, supporting K-12 students. This role offers flexibility with full-time or part-time hours over five days per week, providing critical services to help students develop independence and mobility skills.

Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Texas Orientation and Mobility License required
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred to effectively communicate with a diverse student population

Location and Schedule:

  • Position based in Texas with the possibility for remote support
  • Contract role spanning the current school year (CSY)
  • Flexible hours, either full-time or part-time, Monday through Friday

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver orientation and mobility lessons tailored to K-12 students' needs
  • Assess students environments and mobility capabilities
  • Develop individualized plans to promote independence and safety
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and support staff to ensure student success
  • Monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed
