Job Description

A school district in Kent, WA is seeking a licensed Orientation and Mobility Specialist to provide services to K-12 students. This part-time contract position is onsite and runs from ASAP through June 16, 2026. The role focuses on supporting students with visual impairments by developing and implementing mobility plans that enhance their independence and safety within school and community environments.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting functional vision assessments and mobility evaluations for K-12 students
  • Developing individualized orientation and mobility plans tailored to each students needs
  • Collaborating with teachers, families, and other service providers to support student goals
  • Providing direct instruction on safe travel techniques and use of mobility aids
  • Maintaining documentation in compliance with state and district requirements

Qualifications:

  • ESA licensure with Orientation and Mobility certification required
  • Experience working with school-age children in educational settings preferred
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
