Qualifications and Requirements:

• Current, valid Orientation and Mobility (O&M) license
• Proven experience supporting students as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist in school or similar settings
• Strong communication and organization skills
• Ability to adapt activities and instruction to different environments and student needs
• Dedication to fostering independence and confidence in students with visual impairments

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide orientation and mobility instruction to students, building skills for safe travel in a variety of settings
• Assess student abilities and create individualized plans suited to each childs needs and goals
• Collaborate with families, teachers, and support staff to ensure consistency and progress
• Document student progress and maintain communication with relevant stakeholders
• Instruct students for 7 hours per week, scheduled 1 day per week, with a flexible caseload depending on individual student needs
• Deliver services in welcoming, community-based locations outside the traditional classroom
