Job Description

Make a meaningful impact providing essential Orientation and Mobility services to students throughout the upcoming school year. This contract opportunity requires a dedicated professional who thrives in a collaborative educational environment and is passionate about empowering students to achieve greater independence and successful navigation of their surroundings.

In this role, you will engage with students in need of orientation and mobility instruction, deliver both direct and indirect services, and work closely with school teams to support individualized education goals. Youll play a key part in tracking progress and providing comprehensive case management for a small caseload, with a commitment averaging two hours per week. Your expertise will ensure students develop critical skills for safe, confident movement and engagement within their communities.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Current and valid Texas license as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist
  • Previous experience working with school-aged children or within educational settings preferred
  • Strong case management, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to offer both direct instruction and consultative support
  • Commitment to professional ethics and student confidentiality

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct orientation and mobility instruction
  • Offer indirect/consultative services to educators and families
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports
  • Develop and implement individualized strategies for student mobility needs
  • Participate in meetings as part of the educational team
