Key Qualifications:

  • Valid Orientation & Mobility Certification for California
  • Previous experience working with students who are blind or have low vision is preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement individualized orientation and mobility plans
  • Commitment to fostering independence for students with visual impairments

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to evaluate students orientation and mobility needs
  • Develop and deliver personalized instruction to promote safe, independent movement
  • Support students 2-3 days per week, both this school year and the next
  • Collaborate with educational staff and families to ensure comprehensive student support
  • Teach sensory techniques and strategies for varied environments
  • Monitor progress and adapt instruction as needed for optimal student outcomes
