Job Description

Step into a dynamic opportunity to support K-12 students as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist in the Haverhill and Andover, MA area. This contract position runs from September 1, 2026, through June 14, 2027, offering 32.5 hours per week within standard school day hours (8:15 am to 3:15 pm). As an onsite role, youll work directly with students across a variety of ages, fostering their independence and navigational skills in school settings.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current, active Orientation and Mobility Specialist License required
  • Previous experience with K-12 student populations preferred
  • Strong understanding of adaptive mobility techniques and orientation strategies
  • Ability to create individualized plans catering to diverse student needs
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated, able to manage caseload efficiently

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct orientation and mobility services to K-12 students
  • Assess, develop, and implement mobility plans tailored to individual needs
  • Collaborate with educational and support staff to achieve student goals
  • Document student progress and maintain accurate, timely records
  • Participate in multidisciplinary meetings as needed to support student success
  • Ensure a safe and supportive learning environment for all participants
  • Remain up to date with best practices, continuing education, and state requirements
