Step into a rewarding role supporting student independence as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist near Kingman, AZ. This contract position allows you to collaborate with local school programs, offering your expertise just 4.5 hours per month. Guide students in developing essential travel and navigation skills while enjoying a schedule that perfectly complements other commitments.

Your term begins July 15th, 2026, and continues through May 19th, 2027, providing meaningful continuity for your students throughout the school year.

What Youll Need:

• Certification as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS)
• Experience working with students in educational settings is preferred
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to design and implement individualized travel instruction plans
• Commitment to promoting safety, confidence, and independence

What Youll Do:

• Conduct assessments to determine students orientation and mobility needs
• Develop and implement individualized programs for students who are blind or visually impaired
• Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support student goals
• Provide direct instruction in safe, independent travel in various environments
• Maintain clear documentation and progress reports
• Attend periodic meetings and consult with multidisciplinary teams as needed
