This opportunity seeks an experienced Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) to provide specialized services in a school setting. The position is onsite in Clarkston, MI, offering a contract role with a 35-hour workweek primarily supporting Early Childhood (EC) programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver orientation and mobility instruction tailored to students in EC programs.
- Assess and develop individualized plans to enhance students independence and navigation skills.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and related service providers to support student success.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with district policies, including fingerprinting requirements.
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Orientation and Mobility license is required.
- Professional experience as a school-based Orientation and Mobility Specialist.
- Ability to work onsite full-time and manage a caseload focused on EC programs.
- Completion of district fingerprinting for background clearance.
