Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist on a full-time contract assignment. This rewarding position serves K-12 students across multiple districts in Greene and Washington Counties, working onsite and providing essential support to help them gain greater independence and access within their educational environments.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current and active Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) license is required
  • Previous experience supporting school-aged students, ideally across elementary, middle, and high school levels
  • Strong ability to adapt and communicate with students, families, and educational teams
  • Comfortable traveling throughout Greene County and Washington County to multiple school sites
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to be mobile throughout the school week

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assess student needs and create individualized orientation and mobility instruction plans
  • Teach students safe and effective travel skills both within the school campus and in the community
  • Collaborate with educators, support staff, and families to integrate mobility goals into students educational programs
  • Maintain up-to-date records, progress reports, and documentation as required
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing expert input and recommendations
  • Serve as a resource and advocate to promote student independence in diverse learning settings
