Shape the educational experience for students with visual impairments by providing specialized orientation and mobility services in a supportive school environment. This contract position offers the opportunity to work one hour per week with a small caseload of students near Buna, TX, making a direct and meaningful impact with focused, individualized attention.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver orientation and mobility instruction to two students with minimal service needs, utilizing evidence-based practices.
• Collaborate with educators, staff, and families to develop and implement individualized strategies that promote student independence and safety.
• Assess students orientation and mobility needs and document progress to inform ongoing services and educational planning.
• Offer recommendations for adaptive equipment and environmental modifications as needed to optimize learning experiences.
• Maintain up-to-date records and contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings as required.

Required Qualifications:

• Current Orientation and Mobility Specialist license.
• Valid Texas (TX) certification to practice as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist.
• Ability to develop rapport with students and support their growth in both familiar and new environments.
