A contract opportunity is available for an Orientation and Mobility Specialist to provide specialized services within an educational setting near Bryan, TX. For the upcoming school year, your expertise will support students independence and safe navigation, working approximately 2 hours per week.
In this role, you will:
- Deliver both direct and indirect orientation and mobility services tailored to student needs
- Manage a small caseload, ensuring high-quality individualized support
- Maintain accurate records and track student progress through data collection and reporting
- Collaborate with educational staff and families to create effective, student-centered plans
- Contribute to a supportive and inclusive environment, fostering greater autonomy for students with visual impairments
Desired requirements include:
- Valid Texas license as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS)
- Experience delivering orientation and mobility instruction within a school environment is preferred
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, colleagues, and families
