Job Description

This full-time, onsite contract role offers the chance to work directly with K-12 students, helping them develop the essential skills they need for independent travel and safe navigation throughout their educational journey.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Massachusetts Orientation and Mobility Specialist (O&M) license required
  • Prior professional experience in a school environment supporting K-12 students
  • Strong knowledge of orientation and mobility instruction for a diverse student population
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with educational staff, families, and other related service providers
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct orientation and mobility instruction for students with visual impairments, supporting the development of safe, confident navigation skills within school and community environments
  • Develop and implement individualized instruction plans tailored to each students abilities, needs, and goals
  • Conduct assessments to determine students orientation and mobility skills, and document progress regularly
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure comprehensive support for each student
  • Participate in IEP meetings, contribute professional recommendations, and maintain compliance with all school and district requirements
  • Adapt equipment and instructional strategies to meet students changing needs

Compensation for this position ranges from $50.00 to $80.00. Eligible candidates may also receive healthcare benefits, housing, and meals/incidentals. Full details of our healthcare benefits plan can be found here. This posting is open for 60 days after the posting date.
