Key Qualifications:

  • Current Massachusetts Orientation and Mobility Specialist license

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide O&M assessments and develop individualized instructional plans for students K-12
  • Teach safe travel techniques including cane use, route planning, and environmental awareness
  • Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, and families to integrate O&M strategies into students routines
  • Document progress, adjust approaches as needed, and provide guidance on accessibility and safety
  • Advocate for the needs of students with visual impairments within the school community
