A full-time Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) position is available in Boston, MA, serving K-12 students in a school setting. This onsite contract role involves providing specialized orientation and mobility services to students, helping them develop skills for independent travel and navigation within their environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive orientation and mobility instruction tailored to the needs of K-12 students.
- Assess students mobility needs and develop individualized plans.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to support student development.
- Monitor and document student progress and adjust instructional strategies as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and professional standards.
Qualifications:
- Valid Massachusetts Orientation and Mobility license.
- Demonstrated professional experience working as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist in a school environment.
- Ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively and professionally.
