Job Description

A full-time Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS) position is available in Boston, MA, serving K-12 students in a school setting. This onsite contract role involves providing specialized orientation and mobility services to students, helping them develop skills for independent travel and navigation within their environments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive orientation and mobility instruction tailored to the needs of K-12 students.
  • Assess students mobility needs and develop individualized plans.
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and other professionals to support student development.
  • Monitor and document student progress and adjust instructional strategies as necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and professional standards.

Qualifications:

  • Valid Massachusetts Orientation and Mobility license.
  • Demonstrated professional experience working as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist in a school environment.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload effectively and professionally.
