Step into a specialized part-time contract role supporting Early Childhood and Elementary students as an Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialist. Located in the welcoming community near Lees Summit, MO, this opportunity spans the full current school year and is designed for a professional eager to make a measurable impact through skilled intervention and collaboration.

Youll coordinate and deliver direct O&M services, focusing on developing essential mobility and navigation skills for your student caseload. The schedule is structured and flexibleapproximately 3.2 hours of direct student service weekly, plus parent and staff consultations totaling around 1.6 hours monthly. With service at a single elementary school and two early childhood sites, youll enjoy variety in your day while maintaining work-life balance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct orientation and mobility instruction to assigned elementary and early childhood students.
• Complete initial evaluations and re-evaluations for early learners, highlighting their developmental progress and emerging needs.
• Lead regular consultation sessions with parents, interdisciplinary teams, and teachers to ensure integrated service and collaborative goal-setting.
• Cultivate each childs spatial awareness, safety, and independence related to everyday travel and environmental navigation.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active Missouri Orientation and Mobility (O&M) Specialist certification or licensure.
• Prior experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations is a strong advantage.
• Capability to complete the districts standard background check and onboarding procedures before starting.
