What you bring:

  • Active Texas license as an Orientation and Mobility Specialist (OMS)
  • Experience serving school-aged children or youth with visual impairments
  • Proficiency in case management and individualized service planning
  • Commitment to accurate progress tracking and effective documentation
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative spirit

What youll do:

  • Deliver both direct and indirect orientation and mobility instruction
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine student needs and skill levels
  • Create and implement tailored learning plans in partnership with educational teams and families
  • Monitor, track, and report student progress toward mobility and orientation goals
  • Consult with teachers, staff, and families to generalize mobility skills across school environments
  • Maintain compliance with state and district regulations related to student services
