Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters or Bachelors degree in Music Therapy from an accredited program
- Current board certification as a Music Therapist (MT-BC)
- Previous experience working with children and/or adolescents, preferably in school or educational settings
- Strong communication skills for working with students, staff, and families
- Ability to design and implement both individual and group music therapy sessions tailored to diverse student needs
- Familiarity with IEP processes and special education environments is highly valued
- Excellent organizational and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative music therapy services to students with a range of needs
- Develop individualized treatment plans and therapeutic interventions based on student goals and abilities
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and contribute to IEP development
- Track student progress, document sessions, and maintain compliance with district and state requirements
- Provide resources and guidance to teachers and staff to integrate music therapy into the broader curriculum
