Provide specialized nursing support in an early childhood educational setting, offering essential care to young students during scheduled leave contract coverage. This part-time nursing role focuses on delivering skilled medical assistance in a preschool and childcare environment.
Location & Schedule:
- Position based in Waterford, MI
- Work hours: 8:00 AM 12:00 PM (half-day coverage)
- Contract dates: February 3, 9, 12, 17, 19; March 5, 11; April 7, 9, 10; May 7
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver 1:1 nursing support to a student requiring medical assistance
- Perform G-tube suctioning and provide tracheostomy (trach) care
- Potentially minimal assistance with toileting needs
- Comply with all district onboarding processes, including obtaining a district badge and fingerprinting onsite
- Ensure timely acceptance of substitute assignment, no later than 8:00 AM or the school day start time
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with school nursing experience preferred
- Competence in G-tube care and tracheostomy maintenance
- Ability to work independently with sensitivity to early childhood needs and routines
- Familiarity with school health protocols and compliance measures
