Job Description

Located in Waterford, MI, this opportunity offers a contract position providing critical nursing support within an early childhood school setting. The role involves delivering 1:1 nursing care for young children in a preschool and childcare environment, with a schedule designed for half-day coverage. This position requires clinical skills including G-tube suctioning and tracheostomy care, with minimal toileting responsibilities anticipated.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one nursing care to students, ensuring safety and health needs are met.
  • Perform G-tube suctioning and tracheostomy (trach) care following established protocols.
  • Collaborate with educational staff to support the childs health during school hours.
  • Maintain accurate nursing documentation and communicate effectively with families and team members.
  • Comply with school district requirements, including obtaining a district-issued badge and completing fingerprinting onsite.

Qualifications:

  • Valid LPN/LVN or RN licensure with experience in school nursing highly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in tracheostomy and G-tube care in pediatric populations.
  • Ability to work independently in a classroom setting while ensuring student safety.
  • Familiarity with early childhood healthcare needs a plus.
  • Compliance with background checks and district onboarding processes is mandatory.

  • Daily hours: 8:00 AM 12:00 PM (half day)
