Make a positive difference each day by providing essential care and support to a young student in a dynamic school environment near Thousand Oaks, CA. This onsite contract opportunity is ideal for Licensed Vocational Nurses seeking a part-time role with a strong focus on one-on-one care for a preschool-aged child.
In this special position, your clinical skills will be instrumental in helping a 3-4 year old male student with a feeding tube participate in his educational experience. Your attention and expertise will allow him to safely access his learning opportunities, starting with 1 hour per day and potentially increasing to 3-4 hours a day. The assignment begins as soon as possible and extends through the end of the current school year, with the opportunity to continue into the next academic year.
Qualifications:
- Current and valid LVN License issued by the state of California
- Previous experience as an LPN/LVN in a school, pediatric, or similar setting preferred
- Demonstrated skill in tube feeding and individualized patient care
- Ability to work onsite and adapt to a part-time schedule, ranging from 5 to 20 hours per week
- Compassion, patience, and excellent communication skills
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-on-one nursing care and monitoring for a pre-elementary student during school hours
- Managing and administering feeding tube care safely and effectively
- Collaborating with educators and parents to ensure a supportive environment
- Rapidly responding to the students health needs while maintaining privacy and dignity
