Job Description

This position offers an opportunity for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to serve in a K-12 school setting in Thermal, CA, supporting students with specialized medical and personal care needs. The role involves long-term substitute assignments across multiple school sites within the district, providing vital nursing services during the school calendar year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer medications and perform medical interventions including G-tube feedings and tracheostomy care
  • Assist with student transfers, diapering, and toileting as needed
  • Work collaboratively within a supportive sub pool structure to cover multiple locations as required
  • Maintain active CPR certification and comply with COVID-19 vaccination policy
  • Provide care for students requiring individualized health support in the classroom and school environment

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with experience in California schools
  • Bilingual in Spanish to better communicate with a diverse student population
  • Ability to adapt to changing work sites and student needs throughout the contract period
  • Demonstrated commitment to student health and safety within educational settings

Location: Thermal, California

Work Schedule and Duration:

  • Full-time, 40 hours per week with 8-hour workdays
  • Long-term substitute contract for the current school year with assignments spanning multiple weeks
