Job Description

This position requires a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) credentialed in California, with a strong preference for candidates who have school nursing experience and are skilled in pediatric care involving ventilators, tracheostomies, and gastrostomy tubes. The role is based in Escondido, CA, serving a high school student with complex medical needs.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current California LVN license
  • Experience in pediatrics and handling medical equipment such as vents, trachs, and G-tubes
  • Prior experience working in school settings is preferred
  • Willingness to accompany the student on the bus as part of the daily routine
  • Ability to manage a one-to-one medically fragile caseload

Position Details:

  • Full-time contract duration: anticipated start in January through June 11th
  • Work schedule: 35-40 hours per week, 5 days a week
  • Caseload: one high school-aged medically fragile student
  • Supervision provided by a paraeducator, RBT, CNA, or LPN as part of the support team

Responsibilities include delivering direct nursing services to ensure the health and safety of the student during school hours and transportation, collaborating with educational and medical staff, and monitoring the student's health status in a school environment.
