Take the next step in your nursing career by supporting student health as an LPN in an engaging, onsite K-12 setting near Tacoma, WA. This full-time contract opportunity is ideal for those with a passion for pediatric care and the flexibility to manage varied medical needs in a dynamic educational environment.
In this position, youll be assigned to one school for the full academic year, working either in a float capacity or providing dedicated 1:1 care to students. The caseload may require skilled support in areas such as G-tube management, diabetic care, epileptic management, and other mild to moderate medical needs. Youll play a key role in ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students, collaborating closely with school staff and families.
Qualifications:
- Current, active LPN license for the state of Washington (WA)
- Previous experience in a school, pediatric, or public health setting preferred
- Proficiency or comfort with G-tube care, diabetic care, and seizure response
- Strong assessment and communication skills with school-aged children
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing needs throughout the school year
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care to students per medical plans
- Monitor students with chronic or acute health conditions, respond to emergencies, and complete routine procedures
- Communicate with educators, administrators, and families regarding student health and care plans
- Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with school and state requirements
