Job Description

Embark on a meaningful contract role serving students as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in a dynamic educational environment near Tacoma, WA. In this float position, you'll provide both general health room coverage and focused 1:1 support for a student with tracheostomy needs. This is an opportunity to play a crucial part in the daily well-being and safety of students, with multiple openings available for dedicated and compassionate nurses.

Skills and Experience:

  • Active LPN license in Washington State
  • Prior experience with pediatric trach or 1:1 care, gained in school or clinical settings
  • Ability to work confidently across a range of common school health scenarios, responding with skill and empathy
  • Adaptable team player who communicates effectively with students, school staff, and families
  • Strong assessment and documentation skills to maintain accurate health records

Role Highlights:

  • Float between general school health rooms and 1:1 support for a student with trach needs
  • Serve as a resource for daily student health care, medication administration, emergency response, and health education
  • Collaborate with other school professionals to ensure each students unique needs are met safely and respectfully
  • Optional opportunities to increase your hours by supporting before- and after-school activities
  • Full-time, onsite schedule (37.5 hours per week), with contract running ASAP through June, with potential for summer and extension into next school year
