Job Description

A school-based LPN opportunity is available in the Tacoma area providing 1:1 nursing support for an elementary student with trach and vent dependencies. This contract role supports a student in need of specialized care to safely participate in the classroom environment. The assignment includes potential bus riding support and requires close collaboration with school staff to ensure comprehensive healthcare management during the school day.

Location: Tacoma, WA (with additional opportunities in Sumner and Graham, WA)
Assignment Type: Contract
Hours: Approximately 30 hours per week, with possible additional hours for bus support
Start Date: Immediate (ASAP)
End Date: End of School Year (EOSY)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized nursing care to an elementary student who is trach and vent dependent
  • Monitor and manage respiratory equipment and emergency procedures
  • Support the student's health and safety within the school setting, including possible transportation assistance
  • Collaborate with educational staff and special services teams to support student success

Required Qualifications:

  • Valid Washington State LPN/LVN certification
  • Proven experience caring for trach and vent dependent individuals in a school setting or equivalent environment
  • Ability to work independently and respond effectively to medical emergencies
