Job Description
A full-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position is available to support a student with complex medical needs at an elementary school in Spotsylvania, VA. This role involves providing dedicated 1:1 nursing care in the MD room, alongside assisting with the broader medical and safety needs of other students during the school day. The position is set for the current school year with potential for renewal in the next.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide attentive nursing care to a student with a complex medical history, including observation and timely intervention as needed.
- Perform and manage tube feedings and respond to seizures requiring Vagus Nerve Stimulation (VNS) intervention.
- Assist with students' activities of daily living, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Support other students medical and safety needs when the primary student is not present.
- Collaborate with school staff and healthcare providers to maintain comprehensive care plans.
Qualifications:
- Valid LPN/LVN license.
- Experience working in school-based nursing or pediatric care preferred.
- Ability to manage complex medical conditions, including seizure response and tube feeding.
- Strong observational skills with an emphasis on student safety and health interventions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

Hours & Commitment:
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Contract position with opportunity for renewal for the next school year.
