Job Description

A Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) is needed for a full-semester contract position in Santa Maria, CA, supporting an 8th-grade male student with complex eating and emotional disorders at a middle school. This role requires direct, onsite care with a 1:1 caseload, providing specialized nursing support in a school environment. The position includes a potential role within an LVN pool to cover additional student needs or absences.

Location:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized nursing care to a student with complex medical and emotional needs
  • Collaborate with educational and mental health staff to support the students health and well-being
  • Monitor the students condition and administer care as needed during the school day
  • Participate as a member of the LVN pool to aid other students when necessary

Qualifications:

  • Valid California LVN License
  • Experience or training in mental health nursing highly recommended
  • Comfortable working 1:1 with a student in a school-based setting
  • Male candidates preferred to match student needs

Schedule and Duration:

  • January 13, 2026 June 9, 2026
  • 32.5 hours per week (7-hour days with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break)
  • Onsite attendance required
