Job Description

A full-semester contract position is available for a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to provide dedicated, one-on-one nursing care to an 8th grade male student with complex eating and emotional disorders. This onsite role is based in San Luis Obispo, CA, serving in a middle school setting, with a contract spanning from January 13, 2026, to June 9, 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver personalized nursing care focusing on the students complex eating disorder and emotional health needs.
  • Collaborate with school staff to support the students health and educational progress.
  • Participate in an LVN pool for coverage during absences or urgent needs within the school.
  • Maintain accurate health records and communicate health concerns promptly to appropriate parties.
  • Uphold all applicable state nursing guidelines and school policies.

Qualifications:

  • Current California LVN license is required.
  • Previous experience in mental health nursing, particularly with youth, is highly recommended.
  • Ability to work 32.5 hours per week during school days, including a 7-hour shift with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
  • Male candidates are preferred for this position.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential for working with students and school personnel.
