Job Description

This contract opportunity is focused on providing essential nursing care in a welcoming elementary school setting located near Sacramento, CA. Ideal candidates will possess:

  • Active and unrestricted LPN or LVN license in California
  • Prior experience in pediatric, school, or community-based nursing preferred
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with educators, students, and families
  • Comfort and skill in responding to both routine health needs and emergencies
  • Strong organizational abilities for maintaining accurate health records
  • Compassionate, empathetic approach and a genuine interest in working with children

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering basic and complex nursing care to students during school hours
  • Monitoring students health needs, developing care plans, and administering medications as prescribed
  • Responding to medical emergencies and providing first aid or triage as needed
  • Supporting students with chronic health conditions such as diabetes or asthma
  • Documenting health services and maintaining confidentiality in line with regulations
  • Serving as a health resource for staff and families, and participating in school wellness initiatives

Assignment dates are August 6th through May 27th, with working hours from 9:20 AM to 3:35 PM Tuesday through Friday, and 9:20 AM to 12:50 PM on Mondays (early release days). This schedule offers regular daytime hours and includes consistent minimum days on Mondays.
