A contract nursing opportunity is available in an early childhood school setting located in Rochester, MI, providing critical health support during a leave coverage period. This role involves delivering specialized one-on-one nursing care to young children, ensuring a safe and healthy environment throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 nursing support to a student requiring specialized care
- Perform G-tube suctioning and manage tracheostomy (trach) care with precision and compassion
- Monitor child's health status and promptly report any changes or concerns
- Maintain accurate records of nursing care and interventions
- Collaborate with school staff to support the child's needs during school hours
- Adhere to all district and school health policies and procedures
Qualifications and Experience:
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN) with school nursing experience preferred
- Competence in G-tube suctioning and tracheostomy care
- Ability to provide patient, child-centered nursing care with attention to detail
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with educators and staff
- Current compliance with fingerprinting and district credentialing requirements
Schedule and Duration:
- Contract position covering leave days on select dates: February 3, 9, 12, 17, 19; March 5, 11; April 7, 9, 10; and May 7
- Hours: 8:00 AM 12:00 PM (half-day coverage)
- Sub acceptance deadline by 8:00 AM or school start time on each scheduled day
Additional Requirements:
- Completion of district onboarding including badge issuance and onsite fingerprinting
