Job Description
A Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) position is available to provide dedicated nursing support within a school setting in the Houston, TX area. This contract role will last approximately 10-12 weeks and requires full-time commitment of 37.5 hours per week. The role focuses on supporting a 1:1 student with specialized medical needs.
Location: Houston, TX (exact school location to be determined)
Contract Duration: ASAP through 5/26/2026
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Setting: School-based nursing
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care for a student with medical requirements including tube feeding, suctioning, and oxygen monitoring
- Monitor and manage the students health status throughout the school day
- Maintain accurate health records and communicate with school staff and healthcare providers
- Ensure adherence to all applicable health and safety protocols
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current LVN or LPN license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing
- Experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred
- Ability to perform specialized nursing procedures such as tube feeding and suctioning
- Compliance with required credentialing including district fingerprinting and drug screening
