Job Description

Take the next step in your nursing career supporting a single student in a caring educational environment. This is a contract opportunity for an experienced LPN, focusing on 1:1 care for a student with varying medical needs, including medication support, diabetes management, and epilepsy care. The role is full-time, totaling 35 hours each week throughout the 2026/27 academic year, starting August 19th and concluding June 4th. All work will be performed onsite at one school location near Puyallup, WA, providing you an opportunity to make a real difference in a young person's daily life and education.

Qualifications:

  • Current, valid LPN license for Washington state is required
  • Prior experience in a school setting or with pediatrics is highly preferred
  • Confident providing compassionate, individualized care for chronic conditions, including diabetes and epilepsy
  • Able to administer medications and respond to urgent medical needs as necessary
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with students, staff, and families
  • Organized, reliable, and committed to maintaining confidentiality and safety standards

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver consistent 1:1 nursing support to a student with diagnosed medical conditions
  • Administer prescribed medications and perform health-related procedures as required
  • Monitor and manage diabetic and epileptic care plans, including recognizing and addressing symptoms or emergencies
  • Collaborate with educators, school staff, and the students family to ensure smooth, inclusive support throughout the school day
  • Keep thorough, confidential records of interventions, medications, and observations
  • Maintain communication with healthcare partners and school administration
