Embark on an impactful opportunity supporting a students well-being and educational journey as a 1:1 LPN in a school setting near Puyallup, WA. In this full-time, contract role, youll work onsite during the 26/27 school year (August through May 2027), providing essential care for a student with seizures, thermodysregulation, and a high activity level. This assignment covers one school, with full-time hours (37.5 per week), and also includes providing safe and attentive transportation support. The student may respond best to a male caregiver, making that preferred for this position.
Qualifications:
- Current LPN license (WA state)
- Experience with pediatric nursing, particularly in school or community settings preferred
- Familiarity with seizure management and care plans
- Ability to recognize signs of thermodysregulation and respond appropriately
- Comfort supporting students with high activity levels
- Ability to work independently and as part of a student support team
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to commit through May 2027
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 care for a student while on campus and during transportation
- Monitor and support health needs related to seizures and thermodysregulation
- Administer medication and interventions per care plan
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, and healthcare staff to ensure student safety
- Maintain accurate records and communicate updates to families and clinical staff
- Respond to emergencies calmly and efficiently
