A contract opportunity is available for an LPN/LVN to provide dedicated 1:1 nursing care to an elementary school student in the Puyallup, WA area. This position focuses on supporting a trach-dependent student during the school day, ensuring their health and safety within the educational environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver skilled nursing care to a trach-dependent elementary student on a one-to-one basis.
- Monitor and manage tracheostomy and ventilator needs throughout the school day.
- Collaborate with school staff and healthcare professionals to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment.
- Document nursing observations and interventions in compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
- Respond promptly and effectively to any health-related concerns or emergencies.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Washington State LPN (Licensed Practical Nurse) certification.
- Proven experience in managing tracheostomy and ventilator-dependent pediatric patients.
- Ability to work independently while integrating into a school team.
- Strong communication skills and professionalism in a school setting.
Work Schedule and Location:
- Position is based in Puyallup, WA, with potential interaction in nearby areas including Sumner, Tacoma, and Graham.
- Monday: 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Tuesday to Friday: 9:30 AM to 4:00 PM
- Total of 29 paid hours per week
- Contract term: ASAP start through the end of the school year
This role does not require transportation duties such as bus riding, focusing entirely on in-school care.
