Job Description

A healthcare professional with expertise in Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) is needed for a specialized 1:1 position in an elementary school setting within the Puyallup, WA area. This contract opportunity is designed to provide dedicated nursing care to a trach/vent-dependent student, requiring specific clinical skills and compassionate support. The assignment starts as soon as possible and continues through the end of the school year.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized nursing care to an elementary student dependent on tracheostomy and ventilator support
  • Monitor and manage respiratory equipment and trach care during school hours
  • Support the students health and safety both in the classroom and potentially during bus transportation
  • Collaborate with school staff and healthcare teams to ensure continuity of care
  • Maintain accurate medical records and comply with school nursing and special services protocols

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Active Washington State LPN license (LPN/LVN)
  • Proven experience with trach and ventilator care in a pediatric or school setting (mandatory)
  • Ability to work effectively one-on-one with a student requiring extensive medical support
  • Strong communication skills and team collaboration aptitude
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and supportive environment for the student

Location and Hours:

  • Position is based in Puyallup, WA, with possible work in nearby communities such as Sumner, Tacoma, or Graham
  • Approximately 30 hours per week with the potential for additional hours related to bus riding support if required
