A Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position is available in a school setting located in Plymouth, NH, offering a full-time contract through the end of the current school year with potential for renewal. This role involves providing specialized nursing care for a student with progressive motor challenges, supporting their health and daily needs in an educational environment.
Location: Plymouth, NH
Contract Duration: ASAP to June 11, 2026 (end of school year)
Schedule: Full-time, 35 hours per week (typically 8:00 AM 3:00 PM)
Student Caseload: One 13-year-old, 7th-grade male with Vanishing White Motor Disease requiring assistance with activities of daily living (ADLs), mobility support, and safety supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the student with ADLs, including toileting and use of specialized seating and equipment
- Monitor the student's safety and physical needs throughout the school day
- Supervise food and fluid intake during lunch and snack times
- Collaborate with the on-site Registered Nurse and school staff to ensure coordinated care
- Utilize and manage mobility aids such as manual and power wheelchairs as the students condition evolves
- Maintain detailed documentation related to health services and student care
Qualifications:
- Current NH Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license required
- Pediatric nursing experience strongly preferred, especially with students requiring complex medical support
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary school team
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Comfort with supervising medically fragile students in a school environment
