A full-time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) position is available to support students in a school setting in Palm Springs, CA. This role focuses on providing specialized 1:1 nursing care, including tracheostomy (trach) care and assistance with bus support. The position is a contract role offering the opportunity to work closely with students requiring personalized nursing attention in an educational environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provide 1:1 nursing care to students with medical needs, ensuring their health and safety throughout the school day
- Perform tracheostomy care with precision and adherence to healthcare protocols
- Assist students during bus transportation to ensure their medical needs are met safely
- Monitor and document health conditions and communicate effectively with school staff and healthcare providers
- Respond promptly to any medical emergencies or incidents in the school setting
- Maintain compliance with healthcare regulations and school policies
Qualifications:
- Current Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license valid in California
- Experience in school nursing or pediatric nursing preferred
- Proficiency in trach care and managing students with specialized healthcare needs
- Ability to provide 1:1 student support with patience and professionalism
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
