Job Description

A rewarding opportunity awaits for a compassionate and skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) eager to make a difference in a school setting near Oxnard, CA. This part-time, contract position involves working on-site with a single preschool-aged student in a Positive Early Education Program (PEEP). The role focuses on providing dedicated 1:1 support for a male student with a feeding tube, ensuring his safety, comfort, and health while at school.

Initially, the student will attend for just one hour daily for a few weeks, with hours potentially increasing to 3-4 hours per day as the school year progresses. Youll work closely with educators and family members to deliver nurturing care and help promote the students well-being and educational success.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Current and active LVN license issued by the State of California
  • Previous experience in pediatric, school, or 1:1 nursing preferred
  • Knowledge or experience supporting children with medical needs, especially feeding tubes
  • Exceptional communication skills and patience
  • Strong sense of responsibility, organization, and empathy
  • Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide attentive 1:1 care to a preschool-aged child during school hours
  • Oversee all aspects of daily medical support, including management of the feeding tube
  • Monitor and document the students health status
  • Collaborate with the educational team and family to ensure the students needs are met
  • Maintain professionalism and confidentiality at all times
