Make a meaningful impact on students lives as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) working within school settings near Orange Park, FL. This contract opportunity offers the flexibility of part-time, PRN (as needed/substitute) positions, with the possibility of full-time roles in the future based on district needs. You'll provide compassionate care in the school health room, supporting children and adolescents throughout the school day. Assignments may occur at elementary, middle, or high school campuses, with most placements dedicated to a single location for consistency.
Requirements:
- Valid and active Florida LPN license
- High school diploma or GED
- Current CPR/BLS certification
- Previous school-based nursing experience is preferred but not required
- Ability to complete mandatory orientation/training at the district office (sessions held monthly)
- Willingness to undergo credentialing, including fingerprint clearance; process may take up to 3+ weeks if re-verification is required
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care to students with diverse health needs during the school day
- Document student care and maintain accurate health records
- Respond swiftly to health incidents and emergencies
- Collaborate with school staff, parents, and healthcare professionals to support student wellness and safety
- Educate students and staff on healthy practices and preventative care
