Job Description

Provide specialized nursing care for a medically fragile high school student in a supportive educational environment located in Escondido, CA. This unique 1:1 LVN position requires delivering skilled clinical interventions while accompanying the student on a bus during the school day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administer care to a medically fragile high school student with needs including ventilator support, tracheostomy care, and gastrostomy tube feeding
  • Monitor, assess, and document the students health status and respond promptly to medical needs or emergencies
  • Collaborate with school staff and healthcare professionals to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
  • Assist in transportation by riding the bus with the student to ensure continuous care and safety throughout the school day
  • Adhere to all applicable healthcare protocols, safety regulations, and confidentiality standards

Qualifications:

  • Current California LVN license required
  • Preferred experience working in school settings or with pediatric patients
  • Demonstrated skills in managing ventilators, tracheostomies, and G-tubes
  • Ability to provide compassionate, patient-centered nursing care
  • Comfortable accompanying student on bus transportation during school hours

Position Details:

  • Location: Escondido, CA
  • Schedule: Full-time, 35-40 hours per week, Monday through Friday
  • Student caseload: One medically fragile high school student (1:1 assignment)
  • Contract duration: School year, start date anticipated in January (pending student schedule), through June 11th
