Job Description

Make a meaningful impact in a supportive school environment by providing essential nursing services to students from preK through 8th grade. This contract position offers the opportunity to work alongside dedicated educational professionals, supporting student health and wellness at a single school site located near North Tonawanda, NY.

Preferred qualifications and experience include:

  • Current credentials as an LPN, LVN, RN, or Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA)
  • Experience working with children or in school settings is highly desirable
  • Comfort evaluating student health concerns, including vision and hearing
  • Ability to communicate clearly with staff, students, and families
  • Flexibility regarding specific school nurse certifications

In this role, your contributions will include:

  • Monitoring daily student health and responding to medical needs
  • Conducting basic evaluations, such as eye and ear screenings
  • Supporting students with mild to moderate disabilities
  • Potentially training staff on CPR procedures (not required, but appreciated)
  • Maintaining thorough documentation and working as a collaborative member of the educational team
  • Encouraging a safe, healthy, and positive school environment

The assignment runs from August 12th through September 30th, with the strong possibility of contract extension. Standard hours are Monday through Friday, 6.5 hours per daytotaling 32.5 hours per weekallowing for a predictable and balanced workweek.
