Work closely with educators and families to promote student health and wellness, playing a key role in daily care, routine health screenings, and providing both preventative and responsive medical support.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current, unrestricted LPN or LVN license in California
- Previous experience in school nursing or pediatric care preferred
- Strong understanding of minor illness/injury management and medication administration
- Ability to maintain accurate and confidential health records
- Effective communication and organizational skills
- Compassionate, professional demeanor with excellent rapport-building abilities
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver routine healthcare services to students and staff, including medication administration and basic first aid
- Participate in care planning for students with chronic health needs and collaborate with school personnel on accommodations
- Maintain thorough and confidential documentation for regulatory compliance
- Monitor immunization and health screening requirements as mandated by the state
- Educate students, staff, and families on health topics and hygiene best practices
- Provide support during emergencies and collaborate with school teams for effective responses
