Job Description

The assignment is conveniently located within the greater Buffalo area, with workdays from August 12th through September 30thand the potential for extension.

Your day will be spent at a single school site, offering continuity with staff and students Monday through Friday, working 6.5 hours each day. The caseload includes students with mild to moderate special needs, and you'll perform school nurse duties, conduct health evaluations, and provide care as part of the schools support team. While not required, theres an opportunity to train staff in CPR. Routine tasks may also include eye and ear exams, and collaborating with educators to ensure a safe, nurturing school atmosphere.

Qualifications and Experience Desired:

  • Current RN, LPN, LVN, or CNA licensure (school nurse credentialing is flexible)
  • Experience in a school setting preferred, but not required
  • Capability to provide care across a range of ages (pre-K through 8th grade)
  • Compassion, excellent communication skills, and adaptability
  • Comfortable supporting students with special needs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct health services to students and staff
  • Perform student evaluations and manage routine screenings
  • Support students with acute and chronic health concerns
  • Promote health education and safety practices within the school community
  • Optionally, provide CPR training to school personnel
