Step into a specialized contract opportunity supporting student health as a 1:1 LPN in a school environment near Lakewood, WA. This full-time, onsite role runs from August through May for the entire 26/27 school year, offering you the chance to make a meaningful difference in the daily life of a student who requires dedicated care. With a consistent schedule of 37.5 hours per week, youll provide essential nursing supportin both the classroom and during transportationfor a student with seizure history, thermodysregulation, and a high activity level.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Active LPN license issued by the state of Washington
- Experience working with pediatric or school populations, especially those with seizure disorders and complex care needs
- Familiarity with care for students experiencing thermodysregulation and who require activity-aware support
- Male care providers are strongly encouraged to apply based on the specific needs of the student
- Comfortable supporting students in both classroom and transportation settings
- Excellent communication and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver compassionate, skilled 1:1 nursing care to a student with specialized needs throughout the school day
- Assist in managing seizures, thermodysregulation, and monitoring activity levels, ensuring optimal student safety and well-being
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and school administrators to coordinate care plans and interventions
- Supervise and support the student during bus rides and transitions
- Maintain accurate records and communication with the students healthcare team and family
