Job Description

A part-time Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) opportunity is available to provide essential nursing support within a K-12 school setting in Kent, WA. This contract role offers the chance to work 2 to 3 days per week as a float nurse across various schools, supporting students from kindergarten through 12th grade.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care including routine health assessments and medication administration.
  • Provide skilled care for students requiring tracheostomy (trach) management.
  • Support daily health needs and potentially assist with before- and after-school health activities to increase hours.
  • Collaborate effectively with school staff to manage student health and safety.
  • Maintain accurate health records and comply with school district policies.
  • Work independently as no direct clinical supervision will be provided.

Qualifications:

  • Current LPN license valid in Washington State.
  • Experience working in pediatric or school nursing preferred.
  • Comfort and competence with tracheostomy care are highly desired.
  • Ability to adapt to variable hours and multiple school sites.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.

Location & Schedule:

  • Assignments based primarily in Kent, WA, with postings relevant to nearby areas such as Lakewood, Tumwater, and Tacoma.
  • Part-time schedule involving 2-3 days per week, floating among assigned schools.
  • Position is in-person only.

Additional Details:

  • Fingerprinting clearance required prior to start.
  • Interview process conducted via Zoom.
  • Contract role, with a start date ASAP through end of school year.
  • No formal training provided on start.
