This contract position offers a rewarding opportunity to provide essential healthcare support in an elementary school setting, working one-on-one with a trach-dependent student. Located in the Kent, WA area and serving nearby communities including Sumner, Tacoma, and Graham, this role is perfect for Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN/LVN) with specialized skills in trach and ventilator care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver dedicated 1:1 nursing care to an elementary student requiring tracheostomy support.
- Monitor respiratory status and manage trach/vent care throughout the school day.
- Collaborate closely with school staff and healthcare professionals to ensure the students safety and well-being.
- Assist with daily health assessments and respond promptly to medical needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid Washington State LPN/LVN license.
- Proven experience managing tracheostomy and ventilator-dependent pediatric patients.
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to remain calm in emergency situations.
- Effective communication skills to work within an educational healthcare team.
- Commitment to supporting children with special health care needs in a school environment.
Schedule & Location:
- Monday: 10:30 AM 4:00 PM
- Tuesday through Friday: 9:30 AM 4:00 PM
- 29 paid hours per week
- School locations within the Kent region and surrounding cities (Sumner, Tacoma, Graham).
This position does not require bus riding, allowing for a stable and consistent daily routine.
