A full-time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) opportunity is available to provide specialized healthcare support within a school setting in Houston, TX. This contract position requires a dedicated nurse to assist a one-on-one student requiring skilled care including tube feeding, suctioning, and oxygen monitoring. The assignment is expected to last approximately 10-12 weeks, offering 37.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct nursing care to a student with medical needs during school hours
- Perform tube feeding, suctioning, and continuous oxygen monitoring
- Maintain accurate health records and communicate effectively with school staff and healthcare providers
- Ensure compliance with all school district policies and health-related regulations
- Conduct daily health assessments and respond promptly to any medical emergencies
Qualifications:
- Current and active LVN license issued by the Texas Board of Nursing
- Experience in pediatric or school nursing preferred
- Ability to work full-time, approximately 10-12 weeks
- Must pass required district fingerprinting and drug screening
- Demonstrated skills in patient care, especially with specialized medical procedures like tube feeding and suctioning
